Our story

The Pianoman began with Raymond Cugnolio and a single workshop bench. What started as one technician taking on tuning and repair work grew, over four decades, into a full piano specialist: a workshop, a team of technicians, and a service area reaching across Southern Africa.

Along the way the business widened from tuning and repairs into restoration, transport, storage, evaluations and piano sales. The thread running through all of it has been craftsmanship: doing the work properly, on instruments worth keeping.

We still work the same way. Every job is quoted before it starts, every instrument is assessed honestly, and we would rather tell you a piano is not worth restoring than take the work.
